Ernst & Young awards exemplary entrepreneurial commitments

77 companies – including, once again, R-Biopharm AG from Darmstadt – made it into the 2009 finals of the famous "Entrepreneur of the Year" contest. In all, 300 mid-sized companies were nominated for this year´s coveted award. "They are all very strong participants", comments Wolfgang Glauner, organizer and project manager of the contest. "The companies are achieving clear two-digit growth rates and providing new jobs even in these times of recession."
A jury of recognized economic experts will now select the "Entrepreneurs of the Year 2009" from the 77 finalists in the five categories industry, trade, services, information and communication technologies/media, and start-ups. The winners will be announced on October 2nd at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt/Main.
Ernst & Young organizes the "Entrepreneur of the Year" contest in 50 countries around the world. In Germany, this is the 13th year in which the award has been made. A neutral jury selects the "Entrepreneur of the Year" in five categories, identifying and honoring entrepreneurial excellence in each. The contest is supported by reputable companies and the media including BMW, American Express, DZ BANK, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Manager Magazin.
Besides awarding successful entrepreneurs, Ernst & Young has also undertaken the promotion of next-generation entrepreneurs, and recently launched the "Entrepreneur of the Year Junior Academy" contest. R-Biopharm is proud to have reached the finals for the fourth time now. This signifies a high degree of motivation and strengthens all employees in their commitment to the company and its customers.
